(The Hill) – A federal judge in Texas struck down a key provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that requires insurers and employers to cover preventive services for free, including cancer screenings and HIV drugs.The ruling by Judge Reed O’Connor of U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas — who previously struck down the entire ObamaCare law before it was upheld by the Supreme Court — applies nationwide.It immediately jeopardizes access to treatment for the approximately 100 million Americans who use free preventive services annually, and it leaves the door open for insurers to impose deductibles and copays for potentially life-saving screening tests. Daniel Perry entered a not-guilty plea in court Tuesday. He faces a murder charge. Shooting near Saint Louis University's medical campus

ST. LOUIS -- Police are investigating a shooting in the 3500 block of Lafayette Avenue. A man was shot outside. His condition has not yet been shared by police.This portion of Lafayette Avenue runs parallel to I-44 across from Compton Hill Reservoir Park. The shooting appears to have happened outside the Salus Center. Police have a portion of Lafayette Avenue blocked off with crime scene tape near the intersection with Grand Avenue.Saint Louis University students and parents were alerted to the shooting, presumably because it is near campus.This is a developing story. ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar is stepping down from his position in St. Charles County. He issued a lengthy statement to announce his retirement from public office. He is going into private practice.Lohmar says that the decision to leave office has been coming for several months. He is in the middle of his term and does not feel that he can give the job the energy it needs.Lohmar was arrested last summer for a DUI near the Lake of the Ozarks. The details of the arrest may have impacted his future work as a prosecutor. He attempted to flash a badge at the officer and refused sobriety tests.
