PLEASANT HILL — Police on Friday returned to the Pleasant Hill neighborhood they shut down a day earlier after a retired detective allegedly shot and injured his wife, and then barricaded himself inside his home until the officers left without doing anything.The Pleasant Hill Police Department issued a shelter-in-place order for the Sherman Acres area around 5:30 p.m. Friday. UNION CITY, Calif. (KRON) -- Three times in two days, thieves burglarized a family-owned shoe store in Union City. The thieves eventually cleared the place out.Within a span of 24 hours, a group of suspects broke into Sole Scrubs in Union City three times. Owner Kyle Goudie says the first happened early Sunday morning. Burglars take 40+ iPhones from Berkeley Apple Store "First they smashed the window. They noticed we have bars here and we also have an extra security gate. They saw that so they left. And, then they came for a second time. DENVER (KDVR) — Interstate 70 was suffering multiple traffic impacts on Friday as a snowstorm pushed in, causing crashes and spinouts.I-70 westbound was closed Friday night at Ward Road after six cars and a semi crashed, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department.Police posted about the crash just before 9 p.m. and said no injuries were reported at the scene. SAN DIEGO -- Two children were killed Friday and another person was taken to the hospital after a police pursuit crash in the Mountain View neighborhood, authorities said.The pursuit started around 6:14 p.m. at 32nd Street and Oceanview Boulevard in Logan Heights, the San Diego Police Department told FOX 5. The suspect then led officers to Interstate 805 southbound, where the suspect vehicle exited the freeway and onto 43rd Street, according to police. The suspect vehicle then crashed into another car, causing the suspect to leave the car and run from the scene. CHICAGO — Scott Eby, a man who was serving a life sentence for the murder of 3-year-old Riley Fox in 2004, has died, according to reports. The Chicago Tribune reports that Eby, who was 52 years old, died in prison on Thursday.Riley Fox was kidnapped from her home in June of 2004 and was later found dead in a creek in Wilmington. Charges filed against man accused of burglarizing 8 Chicago businesses Riley's father, Kevin Fox, was wrongly charged with the murder of his daughter and spent eight months in jail before he was exonerated. He died in a crash in Arkansas back in March. In 2010, Eby, a sex offender who was already serving time in prison, confessed to the rape and murder of the Wilmington toddler and was sentenced to life in prison.
