LOS ANGELES — The big, scary Dodgers don’t seem so menacing now, do they? With a 7-3 win Sunday afternoon, the Giants completed a three-game sweep here at Dodger Stadium for the first time in more than a decade and only the sixth time since the teams moved west in 1958. Outscoring their archrivals 29-8 over the course of the weekend, their most runs ever in a three-game series here, it couldn’t have come in much more convincing fashion. In three games, the Giants seemed to vanquish any leftover demons from a season ago, when they went 1-8 here and lost 14 times to the Dodgers.Logan Webb earned the win Sunday, overcoming an outing in which he didn’t have his best stuff or command to limit Los Angeles to two runs over seven innings, but it required the work of Camilo Doval, who entered with one out in the ninth after Scott Alexander loaded the bases. It had been more than a decade since the Giants’ last swept a series of at least three games at Dodger Stadium. KANSAS CITY, Mo (AP) — Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout hit back-to-back home runs to help the Los Angeles Angels defeat the Kansas City Royals 5-2 on Sunday in the finale of a three-game series. It’s the sixth time this season, and 28th overall, that Ohtani and Trout have homered in the same game. The Angels are 6-0 this season and 20-8 overall when both players go deep.“When I write Mike Trout in the lineup I feel pretty good about it, as any other manager in the league would,” Los Angeles manager Phil Nevin said. “You can’t win games with just two guys, but if there are any guys back-to-back you can do it, it’s those two. They can carry a team for quite a while.”Royals manager Matt Quatraro agreed.“They’ve certainly done that to a lot of pitchers over the years,” he said of LA’s dynamic duo.Ohtani saw the end of a six-game streak in which he recorded an extra-base hit, a walk and a run. The only other players in MLB history to accomplish that were Babe Ru...Braves cut Charlie Culberson before infielder’s father was to throw 1st pitch

DENVER (KDVR) -- Lawns all across Colorado looked extra green this spring after continuous moisture across parts of the state and up in the high country where some peaks were still seeing snow. “It's been an unusual spring here with the amount of consecutive days of rain and the cloudiness,” Tony Koski, professor in the horticulture and landscape architecture department at Colorado State University, said. Koski said Sunday that grass is loving all the rain but the problem is it is growing too fast and people are having a hard time keeping up. “Maybe some of the kids are saying they want to mow the lawn for dad this Father's Day," Koski said. He said our state is seeing weather similar to the northwest, which means vegetation that wouldn't usually have a chance of thriving in Colorado, now is. “Because we don’t see as much rain as other parts of the country we don’t see mushrooms as often," Koski said.
