PITTSBURGH (AP) — New York Yankees reliever Anthony Misiewicz was struck in the face by a line drive off the bat of Pittsburgh’s Ji Hwan Bae and left the game on Friday night.Bae hit a 100.6 mph liner up the middle with two runners on in the bottom of the sixth inning. The left-handed Misiewicz raised his glove in an effort to catch it. The glove didn’t make it in time. The ball hit Misiewicz in the face and rolled into right field.The 28-year-old Misiewicz laid on the ground for several minutes while being tended to by medical personnel. DENVER (KDVR) — A woman visiting Colorado from Arkansas died Friday from injuries sustained during a fight at a Sheridan hotel this week.“I would say a piece of me died (too),” her son, Corey Burleson, told FOX31. Documents: Driver in deadly crash admitted to drinking beforehand Teresa Scott, 54, died early Friday at a Swedish Medical Center, according to family. Relatives say she’d been on a ventilator since the attack Wednesday night at the Inn Town Suites on West Hampden Avenue in Sheridan.“Any questions I ask, (police tell me) it’s still an ongoing investigation. So I don’t really have any answers,” her sister, Cindy Westacott, told FOX31.Teresa Scott died Friday after police she was beaten at a hotel on west Hampden September 13. An elderly South Florida homeowner sprang into action to help the people trapped inside an SUV that took a dangerous dive into his swimming pool.Speaking with 7News on Friday, William Marts said he heard a loud noise while inside his home near Southgate Boulevard and Southwest 71st Avenue, Friday afternoon.“We heard this tremendous crack. A police chase involving several agencies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island ended in a shooting Friday night, critically injuring the suspect, officials said.Crime scene tape and multiple cruisers are on the scene in Providence, Rhode Island outside Rhode Island Hospital around 10:30 p.m., where the suspect was shot. Two other people were also in the car with the suspect.The chase started in Burrillville, Rhode Island, and Uxbridge police confirmed the chase crossed into Massachusetts. Then, the chase continued into Providence.Providence police said their officers fired the shots that injured the suspect, and two of their officers were injured during the altercation as well. The Providence police chief said those officers were not shot but could not describe the nature of their injuries. (CNN) — A dramatic and complex international rescue operation to save an American man from one of Turkey’s deepest caves ended successfully on Tuesday – more than a week after after he fell seriously ill and became too frail to make his own way out.An accomplished and experienced caver, Mark Dickey, 40, had been part of a research group on an exploration mission in the Morca Cave when he reportedly began suffering from gastrointestinal bleeding.The cave is located in the Taurus Mountain range in southern Turkey and reaches depths of up to 1,276 meters (4,186 feet).A huge rescue effort was launched involving multiple teams of experienced cavers from around the world alongside Turkish specialists.“Mark Dickey is out in the hands of a rescue worker (and) seems fine at first look,” Recep Salci of Turkey’s disaster and emergency management authority (AFAD) said on Tuesday as footage emerged of Dickey being stretchered out of the cave with a grin on his face.Speaking near the ca...Latest news
