AUSTIN (KXAN) — Coming off a hard-fought 20-14 win over Lake Travis in the Battle of the Lakes last week, the Westlake Chaparrals host Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a 6A-District 26 matchup.Both teams are coming off wins last week with the Cardinals picking up a 22-14 victory over Akins for their first win of the season. The mood during the open portion of Minnesota United’s training session on Friday belied the Loons’ current playoff predicament.Manager Adrian Heath had a glint in his eye when players were volleying in soccer tennis. Bally Sports North, the regional sports network that owns the broadcasting rights to Wild games, has told its 12 NHL and 15 NBA teams it needs to reduce its rights fees payments in order avoid liquidation.That’s according to a report by the New York Post, which also reported that struggling Bally owner Diamond Sports Group has reached a tentative one-year agreement with Comcast — the largest cable provider in the Twin Cities — and DirecTV to include Bally Sports in its lineup next year.A source told the Pioneer Press that Bally would like to reduce its payments by as much as 33 percent for some teams. According to the Wall Street Journal, Diamond Sports was $8 billion in debt when it filed for reorganizational bankruptcy in March.Wild owner Craig Leipold said Thursday the team would be prepared to broadcast its 2023-24 games if Bally decides to drop the Minnesota/Upper Midwest market as it did in Arizona and San Diego. ST. LOUIS - Three teenagers face criminal charges in a south St. Louis murder that stemmed from an attempted robbery earlier this week. Prosecutors have two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old in connection with the investigation, though police have not released their identities. The teenagers are charged with second-degree murder, first-degree attempted robbery and first-degree assault. St. Louis had only 2 officers for an entire district – Both called in sick Police say there were four suspects in connection with the investigation, which includes the three teenagers charged and another who was fatally shot during an exchange of gunfire. FENTON, Mo. -- A youth athletic coach is charged with attempting to convince a child to do sexual activities with him. On Friday, September 29, 2023, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges against suspect Trevor White, 41. White is being held on $100,000 cash-only bond.On or about September 28, 2023, the White texted with a person he believed to be a child under the age of 15. White asked the child to send him nude pictures of herself. He then asked if he could pick the child up, so they could engage in sexual activity together. Denver city officials on Thursday suspended the license of an East Colfax Avenue motel due to a string of criminal activity, marking the first action of its kind against a city lodging establishment.The Denver Department of Excise and Licenses, in an order of summary suspension, said the Regis Motel (8282 E. Colfax Ave.) had become a den for prostitution, drug sales, illegal weapons, burglaries and a fatal shooting.These incidents “require emergency action and summary suspension of the respondent’s license,” Molly Duplechian, the department’s executive director, wrote in the letter.In most cases, the city issues show cause orders to businesses under suspicion of running problematic operations. A man who was being treated for burn injuries was arrested for arson in Laguna Beach, officials said.Flames engulfed a South Coast Water District storage shed at 31792 Coast Highway on Friday, and a short time later at a nearby hospital, officials found Andrew Bell, 52, who had suffered "fire related injuries," according to a news release. "Investigators determined Bell had started the fire. Investigators arrested Bell for arson and have determined the fire to be an isolated incident," the release said. LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Twenty-seven years after the death of rapper Tupac Shakur, a Las Vegas-area grand jury has indicted a man with the icon’s murder, the 8 News Now Investigators confirmed Friday."Ultimately, our persistence in this investigation paid off," Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jason Johansson said Friday during a news conference. He said Metro detectives had a lot of information about the crime but didn't have the necessary evidence until recently to arrest 60-year-old Duane “Keffe D” Davis. A Clark County grand jury voted to indict him on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement. Police arrested Davis early Friday near his home, prosecutors said.Davis wrote a book and did several interviews where he said he was in the car with the person who shot Shakur and record executive Suge Knight near the Las Vegas Strip in September 1996.
